    Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor (2 positions)

    The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University invites applications for two 9-month faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor.


    The first position is a one academic-year appointment with the potential for renewal on a year-to-year basis. The starting date is August 16, 2021. The instructor will have primarily teaching responsibilities in the Department, including 4 courses each semester (Fall 2021 and Spring 2022). Courses may include educational psychology, child/adolescent development, adult development, and introductory psychology, among others. The successful candidate will have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology or related field, ABD considered. A specialization in Developmental, Educational, and/or School Psychology is preferred.     The second position is a one academic-year appointment with a starting date of August 16, 2021. The faculty member will have primarily teaching responsibilities in the Department, including 4 courses each semester (Fall 2021 and Spring 2022). Courses may include survey of social psychology for non-majors, social psychology for majors, and research methods in psychology, among others. The successful candidate will have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology or related field, ABD considered. A specialization in Social Psychology is preferred.
